Dear all,
maybe a silly question, but I am wondering....If we do not exclude related individuals in the GCTA estimations, is it possible to have an h2 estimation more similar to the twin heritability?
I mean, would we then take into account then non-additive genetic effects as well, which are assumed to be captured by the twin estimations?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
1. Actually the hg^2 estimates could be partitioned into h2 from related and unrelated samples (which is described in detailed in the paper, Zaitlen, et.al 2013, Plos Genetics:9(5):e1003520).
2. I don't think the non-additive genetic variation is a major factor of missing heritability ( Mäki-Tanila, et.al 2014, Genetics:168, 355-367)
Cheers, Zhihong
