Hi,
I want to calculate the power for a heritability analysis of a trait. The default variance of the SNP-derived genetic relationship is 0.00002. However, for this analysis, I’m only using selected SNPs, so I have to specify the variance by the empirical variance of the off-diagonals of the GRM (per the note in the power tool). This power calculation is for a proposal, so I don’t have the data yet, so I can’t estimate the variance. Is there another way to do this, or am I interpreting all of this incorrectly?
